Depression can be a silent killer and if it leads to suicide, the silence transforms into unbearable pain for those left behind. The sources of depression are many and varied; financial worries; alcohol or substance abuse; gambling; bereavement, relationship break-ups to name but a few.
The old adage “It’s good to talk” is a truism. Problems held internally tend to build up over time and become unmanageable, leading to extreme stress and sometime irrational decision making.
Next Thursday 12th February, the club will be open from 7pm to 8pm where some of our members will host a discussion session and tell their stories of how they overcame their battles with mental health. Come along and listen. There will be an opportunity for you to tell your story too, in a non-judgmental environment.
